The Holocaust Deniers Are Back

 

Someday some son of a bitch will say this never happened.

Earlier this year I posted on how cops must have a certain detachment to the suffering of others, and it goes well beyond compartmentalization. I recall training a rookie officer and we drove up on a car fire. The driver perished because she tried to cut in front of an 18-wheeler, struck his fuel tank, and the ignited diesel burned her car. 

 

As the firefighter finished hosing down the car, I told my trainee to look at the body. She took it well. Dealing with dead bodies is a critical part of field training, and police work in general. The need to be able to handle it. 

 

Then I told her, “Let’s get some Popeye’s for dinner.” She looked at me with a “you can’t be that f%^&ed up can you Thiac” look on her face (the firefighter was also chuckling). I explained to her a warped sense of humor is a coping  mechanism  in this profession. Otherwise, you will lose it. I’ve seen dead children (I’ve never made off color remarks about that) and it rips at you. But you must do your job.

 

Last week I was reading an article in the American Spectator on why we need to broadcast what Hamas did in Israel.

The below account details atrocities committed by Hamas on Oct. 7 in Israel.

The Israeli Consulate in Manhattan recently arranged a highly disturbing but equally important briefing for about 20 journalists. Israel’s diplomats in Gotham presented 40 minutes of raw video that documented Hamas’ appalling atrocities during their unprovoked, surprise attack on the Jewish state last Oct. 7. This was the first presentation of these images outside Israel. 

A wide variety of devices captured this carnage. Hamas killers’ GoPro cameras recorded terrorist-eye views of that day’s bloodshed. Home-security, traffic-circle, and closed-circuit cameras caught the mayhem as it unfolded. Hamas’ social media posts showcased their deadly handiwork. The Israel Defense Forces also seized video proof of this handiwork from dead Hamas barbarians. Their cellphones and body cameras spoke volumes.

“It’s important to remember what happened,” said Gilad Erdan, Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, as he introduced this video. “Massacre denial is like the modern Holocaust denial. This will help people truly understand our enemy: Hamas is a genocidal terror organization committed to the destruction of the state of Israel.”

These scenes begin at dawn. With the sun just over the horizon, Hamas terrorists in civilian pickup trucks crash through the border fence and speed toward their targets. They are exhilarated, as if heading to the beach for spring break. “Allahu akbar!” they cheer. Let’s kill some Jews! 

The Hamas murderers soon encounter Israelis driving along a highway, minding their own business. Hamas gunmen leap from their trucks and start shooting unarmed motorists. Without warning, these drivers suddenly feel their cars riddled with bullets. As they perish, they release their steering wheels. Their cars roll off the road.

A dash camera shows the view from inside one vehicle. As the Israeli driver cruises along, a Hamas terrorist steps into the street and opens fire. The windshield cracks, pierced by bullets. With its driver mortally wounded, the sedan veers off the highway and into a ditch.

These beasts then approach a kibbutz. A black dog responds. But this is no lunging Doberman or snarling Rottweiler. Instead, an apparent Labrador ambles forward. Its gentle demeanor suggests that it misconstrues the men of Hamas for new friends, perhaps dropping by for breakfast and then a game of fetch, with fresh tennis balls. 

No such luck.

Read the article, it’s quite disturbing. But what is atrocious and beyond words is what is linked at the bottom. I have a sense of detachment, as many first responders, soldiers, etc. have to have. But this is beyond sickening. How any human can do this to an innocent child or any human being is beyond comprehension. 

 

I’ve read how many of our Marines and soldiers behaved with German and Japanese soldiers in World War II. Not justifying it, but they dealt with an enemy that treated other humans in a sub-human manner (e.g. the Rape of Nanking, the Baton Death March, the Holocaust, etc.), they actions can be understood by the heat of battle. These were civilians living their lives and a threat to no one. Reports are that Hamas burned babies alive. In no way are the perpetrators to be called anything near human. 

 

If I had the ability, before they were brought to justice, I would have them spayed and neutered. With a rusty hack saw. Forgive me, but I have my limits. You torture or burn infants (or adults for that matter) alive, I have no issue with your pain.

 

If you can stomach it, look at the pictures. I don’t exaggerate, seeing them shook my core. I’ve seen dead children and adults, killed by accident or by deliberate actions. I’ve seen mothers cry over their dead children. I’ve smelled a body over a week old, an odor you will never forget. But never did I see evil like this. 

 

Well, not to be outdone, our future, the young on the universities, attempt to cast doubt on what we’ve seen with our own eyes. 

 

 

 

Again, if the power was within me, I would ensure this creature is fixed with a blunt object. For the sake of humanity, it must not breed. 


As difficult as it is, these images must be broadcast as far and wide as possible. We don’t know how successful the Israelis will be in their war against Hamas. But it’s not someday. It’s today. A son of a bitch is trying to say, “This never happened. Who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes.”

Once the stalwart troops of the Israeli Defense Force finish taking out the Hamas trash, what’s next in Gaza and for the Gazans?

 It’s been over a month since Hamas launched its terror attack on the State of Israel. Some might opine that “death, is death,” no matter the motivations of the killer or how he chooses to inflict that death on his victim. In this case, no thinking, feeling person could buy that false equivalency. The Hamas terrorists have murdered well over a thousand Israeli men, women and children,  some who were infants in the crib. (Note to readers, graphic, distressing imagery below). 

Knowing a little of Israeli history and given the sheer savagery of the Hamas attacks, I have no doubt that the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) will have no difficulty destroying every bit of Hamas infrastructure. There is also no doubt that when the IDF gets done, if not unduly hindered by inept meddling by the Biden State Department, what will remain of the Hamas fighting force, will be a few low level street thugs, hiding under the skirts of women refugees in Egyptian or Jordanian camps.

So what’s next? What needs to happen when the IDF gets done taking out the Hamas trash? Prime Minister Netanyahu has some thoughts, as do the usual suspects in the Biden Administration.

From my foxhole, there is no way that Israel can sustain a long term occupation of Gaza, without outright annexing it.  The main obstacle to that wouldn’t be Israeli capability, but rather the distorted manner in which necessary Israeli security actions are presented to the World by the leftists and their media enablers. Israel as an occupier would be prohibited from using the lawful tools it needs, to maintain order and stability. Enter-an international occupation and supervisory organization and military force.

The Gazan’s need two things: A stable government along with internal security and protection from groups like Hamas. 

Israel, on the other hand, needs a neighbor that doesn’t pose a threat to its infants in the crib.

The bumbling Biden Administration has  actually and quietly proposed a U.S. force to fill the security role. (Hat tip: Nick Arama at RedState )

That’s a non-starter. It would be patently absurd to put U.S troops into a peacekeeping situation such as this. There is no way they would be viewed as an unbiased arbiter.

I’ve also heard back-channel info that I cannot yet confirm, that there might be the possibility of the Egyptians and Israelis cooperating in such a venture. Such an international, ad hoc organization would be just the trick. The organization would be composed of mostly Arab contributions from countries who have given diplomatic recognition to Israel. Ideally, Israel should also be of the participants in order to to look after its own interests. 

Whether or not Israel is included in such an ad hoc politico-military stability organization, it’s imperative that the two biggest stakeholders, other than Israel, have a position of primacy in this effort. Without Egypt and Jordan involved, this effort would fail, as would the involvement of the corrupt organization known as the United Nations.

Having Egypt, Jordan and other friendly Arab nations ramrodding the rebuilding, governance and security effort will have multiple benefits. Most importantly, is international perception. It will be much more difficult to chastise Arab nations doing peacekeeping among other Arabs. This is a rare opportunity. The Biden State Department should quietly but intensively, advocate for this among the 3 primary stakeholders, Israel, Egypt and Jordan.

If they cannot, we will see more of this…much, much more.

America has only three cities: New York, San Francisco, and New Orleans.

 

Everywhere else is Cleveland.

A couple of weekends back my wife and I traveled back to New Orleans for my high school reunion. God where did forty years go? As we are getting older, we are contemplating where to retire to, and occasionally going back to our hometown of New Orleans comes up. The three F’s, family, friends, and food are mighty attractive. 

 

Then we spend time back in the New Orleans area. While the attractions are still there, we know we will not retire in Louisiana. And that is a shame. There are great places to eat, the New Orleans zoo and aquarium are incredible, and if you have not seen the World War II Museum, do so, and do it now. A lot of the vets are hanging out over there, and the fact is they are passing on every day. 

 

But the crime, corruption, and politics are too much. The New Orleans Police Department is over tasked and undermanned, the local “leaders” are worthless, and crime is out of control. For a city of 390K, it’s already had 166 murders, and it might be a reason to celebrate. This time last year it was around 200. In comparison Houston TX, population 2.3M, has had 288 homicides in 2023.

 

As a rule I don’t wish that anyone become the victim of crime. But for some people, let’s just call it reality therapy. A man named Jason Williams learned that a week ago.

 

Jason Williams is the District Attorney of Orleans Parish, LA. He’s the “chief law enforcement” officer of the city of New Orleans. He’s a Soros backed criminal justice and bail “reform” advocate. In other words, he doesn’t want to prosecute criminals. Well, some of the dudes he thought should not be in jail thanked him for his service to the criminal community.

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint Monday night (Oct. 16) in New Orleans, his spokesman said.

 

“OPDA confirms that DA Williams and his 78-year-old mother were carjacked at gunpoint as he was helping her into a car,” office spokesman Keith Lampkin said in response to questions from Fox 8.

 

“DA Williams and his mother were unharmed and both thank the NOPD for their hard work tonight and every night responding to crime victims.”

 

The New Orleans Police Department says two armed suspects demanded Williams’ black Lincoln Navigator around 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Race Street in the Lower Garden District…

 

…Fox 8 spoke again with an emotional Williams at his office Tuesday just before noon. He said the masked suspects did not appear to be juveniles. He said they brandished high-powered automatic weapons and made off with some of his mother’s belongings.

 

I wonder if Mr. Williams ever though other victims of carjacking, juggling, and other aggravated crimes would be emotional? Maybe, Mr. Williams, you should consider that next time the case of a a thug with a criminal record comes before your office. Perhaps you should think, “Well, he’s already out on 5 five felony bonds, and is suspect in three other aggravated cases, maybe we should ask for remand finally.” 

 

I doubt it, but one can always hope. 

Metropolitan Crime Commission president Rafael Goyeneche agreed with the DA that Williams and his mother are lucky to be alive.

 

“We’ve seen some carjackings that have ended in homicide,” Goyeneche said…

 

Williams said his mother is still reliving the terror that unfolded within a matter of seconds near his home. He said those traumatic seconds can change crime victims’ lives forever.

 

“I think it’s important to reiterate that my mother and I are just a small fraction of the number of people impacted by violence in this city,” he said. “We have to collectively work on crime-prevention efforts, policing efforts and our prosecution efforts.”

You don’t say. Tell me Mr. Williams, how many other mothers, fathers, husbands, wives, etc. relive that every day. It’s a lot. There were 144 carjackings in New Orleans as of August 2023, which is down from 259 in the same time in 2022. Improving, yes, but many are not reported, and still a lot for a city of less than 400K.

 

There is something interesting at the bottom of the article: 

The NOPD said the same three suspects carjacked a 22-year-old woman about 30 minutes later, just over a half-mile away in the 1800 block of Baronne Street. Her stolen Honda Civic was also recovered.

You mean the same criminals committed multiple crimes? Who would have thunk it? The answer is anyone with a two-digit IQ. Not to mention, the thug who did it:

New Orleans police arrested a man in the Monday night carjacking of Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams in the Lower Garden District after detectives tracked a pickup allegedly used in that carjacking and a second one the same night.

 

The details of the arrest of Raymond Rochon, 18, are contained in police records filed this morning in Orleans Parish Criminal District Court. With the single arrest, police also cleared at least three other auto-related crimes they say took place over the course of this year across the city…

 

…Less than 30 minutes later and just a few blocks away, the same blue pickup truck pulled up alongside a woman in the 1800 block of Baronne Street. Two masked men demanded the woman’s Honda Civic at gunpoint, according to the records. She was not injured… 

 

…He (Rochon) would soon tell police that he knew why they'd been able to find him so quickly, according to the records. As a detective was reading Rochon his Miranda rights, he allegedly said: "I know why y'all are here," according to the records. "Y'alls people" had been "got…"

 

…According to police records, Rochon has also been connected to at least three other car thefts beginning in April…

 

… Rochon is additionally charged with illegal possession of a firearm because he was armed with a handgun when police arrested him Tuesday…

 That’s about right. Thank God the lady with the Civic is OK. But look at this one thug, eighteen years old (sorry mom, but your boy ain’t going to Harvard) and he’s already charged with multiple felonies. And he’s not the only street thug out there praying on innocent people. 

 

Mr. Williams, you, like many Soros backed radical district attorneys, need to decide what matters. Doing your duty by enforcing the law and separating the citizens from the criminal class. Or getting the money for Soros to keep your job. 

 

Knowing New Orleans, I think I know what’s going to happen. A hell of a shame. A very unique city is on the way down, and no sign it’s going to stop dropping.

A Question Of Qualified Immunity

Another example of a court second guessing a cop’s split second decision 

 

In multiple writings on various sites that since the beginning of the war on police, I’ve made the point cops are “joining the fire department.” By that I mean patrol officers are signing on, going to their “safe spaces” (parking lot, etc. where they can safety handle paperwork, etc.), answering their calls for service, but nothing else. 

 

Effective patrol, by its definition, must be proactive. Cops must drive around, know the areas, see the “usual suspects” at work, and act against them to prevent criminal incidents. For instance, an experience patrol officer sees a convicted drug dealer on the sidewalk. He observes an apparent sale to a second person, so he stops the suspect and starts to talk to him. In accordance with Terry v. Ohio, the officer conducts a quick pat down and feels the outline of a gun or knife. He then had reasonable suspicion to reach into the pocket where he discovers the 9mm he was carrying. 

 

As the man is a convicted drug dealer, he cannot carry a firearm. The officer places him under arrest and he’s sent back to jail or state prison. What is not shown is the drug dealer was going to use that later on a drive by shooting. While he’s being processed, the other gang banger dodges being shot (for today).

 

I thought of this after reading this article on two Los Angeles police officers and what they have endured since a shooting in 2018. They were called for a disturbance in a gym locker room, where the suspect refused to leave and had assaulted a security officer. 

 

“After engaging the suspect, who was naked and much larger than both officers, the suspect refused to leave and resisted attempts to take him into custody. After warning him they would use their TASERs, the weapon was discharged with no effect. 

 

The suspect then punched one officer in the face so hard he was disoriented and knocked against a wall. After regaining his balance, he saw the suspect was punching his partner in  the head multiple times. The female officer was in a fetal position on the floor, and the suspect grabbed her TASER. At that time the officer ordered him to stop, and then fired, killing the suspect.”

 

Did the officer have “reasonable fear for the life and serious injury of himself or a third person?” I think so, the suspect had overpowered both of them, TASER was not effective, he was punching one officer repeatedly in the  head, and he was grabbing for her TASER. However, the 9th Circuit Court of Appeal stripped the officers of qualified immunity, leaving them open to personal financial liability in civil suits over the shooting. 

 

After several months of an appeal, the 9th Circuit reversed, restoring the qualified immunity for the officer who fired the shots. “The court stated the officers were under a ‘high-stress, rapidly developing situation with a suspect, much larger than both officers, in a confined space. Moreover, use of an intermediate weapon, the TASER, did not bring the man under control.’”

 

Now I have no doubt the city will settle with the criminal’s family as soon as possible. But the question is would Los Angeles have stood behind the officers in civil litigation if they were not force to? Forgive me if I say, “I doubt it.”

 

The action of the officers here is within applicable law, and I’ll assume department policy. But the departments and cities are not interested in justice. They want to cover their…liability.

 

A classic example is from the 1980s, where a Mid-West city police department (like most major cities in the 1980s) was transitioning from revolvers to semi-automatics. The academy trained the officers if a jam occurred during a firefight, you should “CLEAR! (clear the jam), RACK! (load a round in the chamber) and SHOOT!” Later an officer has a jam in a firefight and does exactly that, “CLEAR! RACK! SHOOT!” However, while the officer was handing his pistol the suspect dropped his and was not a deadly threat anymore. He died from being shot. 

 

During the lawsuit for the suspect’s death, the city attempted to sever liability, saying the officer should have reassessed before shooting. Fortunately for the officer, his training records were produced to show that was the city trained their officers to do, and they were liable.

 

Current example, a major city just revised its pursuit policy. Speaking with a sergeant on the force, he was very plain on the matter. “They are putting all the liability on the street supervisor. I’ll say it. Unless the suspect driving away is a murder suspect, I’m cancelling the pursuit.” Trust me, he’s not the only sergeant thinking that, and the criminals know it. So they will simply drive off, betting their will not be pursued. 

 

Between the feds coming down at every possible chance, cities not backing their officers, and departments higher ranks being staffed with politicians, not cops, officers will not stick their neck out. Not physically (see the LAPD example above) or legally/financially. And to borrow the phrase, “women, children and minorities hardest hit.”

How the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) looks at night...

Not to be confused with the People's Democratic Republic of Kalifornia (PDRK)

Ages ago I read Dick Cheney's autobiography, In My Time.  One of the points I remember was he put in his office, when he was the Secretary of Defense, a picture of the Korean Peninsula at night. Everything below the DMZ was fully lit, especially around Seoul. North of the border, with some exceptions (Pyongyang), was completely dark. 

I subscribe to 38th North, a daily summary of unclassified intelligence on the DPRK. Yes, once an intel nerd. always an intel nerd. But I've been studying this country since 1988 (when I got my first assignment out of my Army basic course), and while countless Asian nations have entered the 21st Century, it is still in the years before the mid-20th Century. And this latest photo shows it. 



























I've read a bio of Lyndon Johnson and how he was instrumental in getting electric power to Texas Hill Country people. The wires were run, but there was no power for ages. Then one family was walking back to their home just as it was getting dark, and they thought the house was on fire. No. It just had electric light for the first time. 

Somewhere in my office is a picture of me in the summer of 1989 on the DMZ. And I've recently heard that another idiot walked into North Korea, and Army private. Why they would do that, I don't know, but knowing Lloyd Austin et all will trade a fortune for him. I was about 200 yards from the border, and that was close enough. 

See the future liberals want for all of use (well, not them you understand...). No lights, no power, no transportation, etc.

An Easy Solution Environmentalists Don't Want To Use.

I've often said I'm an not an "environmentalist," as they are radical anti-growth and frankly anti human development people, many of whom want to spare themselves of the pain they push on others. Just recently John Kerry, hypocrite extraordinaire, was actually called out on his use of his private jet to go to one conference after another demanding we stop using internal combustion engines. Like the one in "his" plane and the limo he always rides in. 

In fairness, it was not his plane. It was his wife's. 

I prefer the term conservationist. I believe the Earth's natural resources should be efficiently exploited for the benefit of mankind. That include oil, natural gas, coal, water, and air. Keep the air and water clean, absolutely. Stop using things that work (e.g. automobiles, aircraft, etc) while the hypocrites lecture us from their 200' yachts? I don't think so. 

One point made countless times is there is a source of electricity the leaves no "greenhouse" gases, but many of the enviro nut-jobs want no part of is nuclear power. Legitimately there is an issue of where to store the radioactive waste, but that should have been settled ages ago. Yucca Mountain in Nevada has been designated as a national storage site since 1997, and it's still an open issue after resistance from local politicians. Hopefully a Republican president in 2025 will use eminent domaine to seize the land, establish the final site and name it after a man who's deserved this honor. Let's call it the Harry Reid Toxic Waste dump. 

But I found this interesting. The Army is working on portable nuclear generators to deploy to the field. If we can send these to 3rd World nations, why not  downtown USA? 

Pentagon to build nuclear microreactors to power far-flung bases

Pentagon officials recently announced that the Defense Department will build a nuclear microreactor that can be flown to an austere site by a C-17 cargo plane and set up to power a military base.

A statement released Wednesday by the Pentagon’s Strategic Capabilities Office announced the construction and testing decision that followed the office’s Environmental Impact Statement work for “Project Pele...”

...The plans call for a 40-ton reactor that can fit in three-to-four 20-foot shipping containers and, once set up, provide 1 to 5 Mega Watts of power on full power operation for up to three years before refueling.

The microreactor will ultimately join a newer type of nuclear fuel being used in the program at the Idaho National Laboratory. Testing and experimentation will occur in 2024, with demonstrations anticipated by 2025, (Program Manager, Dr. Jeff Waksman) Waksman said.

“Advanced nuclear power has the potential to be a strategic game-changer for the United States, both for the DoD and for the commercial sector,” Waksman said. “For it to be adopted, it must first be successfully demonstrated under real-world operating conditions.”

...Waksman responded to that concern with a twofold answer to Army Times this week, saying that the microreactor will be used for austere locations, some of which were identified in the original 2018 Army G-4 report, “Study on the Use of Mobile Nuclear Power Plants for Ground Operations.”

Those include places such as Fort Greely, Alaska, and Lajes Field, Azores.

Second, Waksman said that both the newer designed reactor, a “high-temperature gas reactor,” and its fuel source, known as high-assay low enriched uranium tristructural isotropic fuel, provide more safety measures than older generation reactors and fuel.

The design also has protection features built in that are currently classified, Waksman said. Additionally, commanders can enhance protection with barriers or by burying the reactor underground, he said.

“This thing is very resilient,” Waksman said.

The fuel type offers another layer of protection.

“The uranium is in millions of tiny pebbles, less than 1 mm in diameter, each individually encapsulated,” Waksman said. “Each fuel pellet is its own barrier...”

 

The article is long and there is  a lot of verbiage from opponents such as the Union of Concerned Scientists, a group of scientist with less credibility on nuclear proliferation than the Southern Poverty Law Center has with "hate groups." Legitimately they raise the issue of exposure to air attack, but this would be less of a threat than they publish. The idea is for this generator to be far behind the lines, not on the front lines. This is where you have air defense coverage, not to mention ground security. 

Progress. Seeing these "scientists" want us to mine for rare minerals for EV batteries in spite of the pollution that causes. Or air conditioning is "destroying the planet" but they don't shut their AC units off. I will remind these "experts" the US came in under the carbon restrictions of the Paris Climate accord thanks to fracking, allowing us to use more natural gas for electricity generation. And it will be business, not idiots with PhDs, who will lead us into a powered future.

One Again, All Together, Thanks Joe

A lie spread across the world is 90% of all weapons in the hands of Mexican gangs comes from the US. Very wrong, as STRATFOR has documented on multiple occasions. Yes, they get firearms from the US, but the majority that can be verified are from other nations. 

One of Joe Biden’s many disasters since entering the White House (and he was a disaster before entering the White House) was the calamitous withdrawal from Afghanistan. It made the final days in Saigon look organized and dignified. A helicopter leaving the embassy is one thing, people grabbing the nose gear of a cargo plane is even worse. 

 

Thanks to Joe and his idiot Defense Secretary, we handed over to the “Taliban  at least 78 aircraft, millions of rounds of small ammunition, and over 300,000 rifles, over 9,000 air to ground weapons, not to mention 42, 000 pieces of night vision, surveillance, ‘biometric and positioning equipment.’”  Now the Taliban have become arms dealers for other 3rd World enemies.

The U.S. military retreated from Afghanistan two years ago, leaving behind weapons that are now turning up in far-flung trouble spots where terrorists are fighting and killing America’s allies. In markets that have sprung up across the southern and eastern badlands, where the hottest fighting of the war took place, merchants with Taliban permits are offering U.S.-made automatic assault rifles and handguns for sale alongside hardware from Russia, Pakistan, China, Turkey, and Austria. Business, like terrorism, is thriving.


Under weather-beaten tarps slung across wooden poles, in isolated strip malls deep in the desert, or laid out on dusty carpets along bumpy tracks off the major highways, these ad hoc weapons bazaars are offering rockets and bombs, shoulder-fired grenade launchers, night vision goggles, sniper rifles and scopes, and ammunition. The wares are priced in afghanis, rupees, and dollars; recent price increases reflect the business acumen of one of the world’s richest criminal cartels that has sought to keep tight control on supply.


Left-behind American assault rifles command a premium: an M4 in good condition can fetch up to $2,400, a status symbol with as much cachet in the Himalayan tribal belt as a luxury handbag in Manhattan. In contrast, a Pakistan-made knock-off of an AK-47, the world’s most ubiquitous killing machine, can go for as little as $130…

And the results of this new found “capitalism” for small arms, etc. “The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Pakistan’s torn northwest tribal regions and separatists in restive Balochistan are using made-in-America weapons to kill police and soldiers in an escalating war against the Pakistani state.“

…The Taliban, allies of if not quite affiliates of al Qaeda, are at the center of a global smuggling web that earns billions of dollars from heroin and meth. Now they appear to be funneling small arms to like-minded extremists inspired by their victory, not least next door. The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) in Pakistan’s torn northwest tribal regions and separatists in restive Balochistan are using made-in-America weapons to kill police and soldiers in an escalating war against the Pakistani state.

Dramatic TTP videos show apparent attacks on Pakistani police and army outposts by militants armed with American weapons and using night vision and thermal sights, which Afghan Peace Watch said in a new report are “highly sought-after accessories supplied to Afghan Special Forces.” The report quotes a Taliban fighter in Nangarhar province, bordering Pakistan, as saying night vision items sell for $500 to $1,000…

Sometimes I hear someone say, “They can’t be that stupid, can they?” My response is, “Don’t challenge them. They will surprise you.” Well, here we go, another example of leaving children and ideologs in charge of American policy.

Happy Independence Day

We mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor...

In the very hot summer of 1776, representatives of the original thirteen colonies of Great Britain met in Philadelphia, and discussed as serious a subject as could be deliberated. They were about to commit treason against the sitting monarch of England, George III. As this meant nothing short of death in case they were captured, there was no going back once this document was signed. And many of the 56 signers  paid the ultimate price for their actions that summer.

Rush Limbaugh Jr., the father of the late great Rush Limbaugh, gave a presentations on what happened to these men. Of the 56 signers, five were captured by the British, tortured, then executed as traitors. Nine fought in the Revolutionary War and died. Two of the signers lost sons serving in the Colonial Army, while another two had their sons captured by the British Army. Twelve lost all their worldly possessions when the British ransacked and burned their homes. 

A sobering thought at what men in the 18th Century risked and sacrificed to establish the United States of America.  

I've heard from some that America has never been so divided as today. Seeing we had a Civil War break out, not to mention minor open rebellions (e.g., the Whiskey Rebellion of 1794) I can't agree. But as we've had one challenge after another, on the anniversary of our independence, it is good and proper to reread the document that started it all. And while we will not "...mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.," we are, as citizens, called upon to continue the work to make us a more perfect union. And on the 247th anniversary of our nation's founding, please read the document that founded the greatest nation on Earth.

The unanimous Declaration of the thirteen united States of America, 

When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid world.

He has refused his Assent to Laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.

He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.

He has refused to pass other Laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the right of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.

He has called together legislative bodies at places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their public Records, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his measures.

He has dissolved Representative Houses repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the people.

He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause others to be elected; whereby the Legislative powers, incapable of Annihilation, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; the State remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.

He has endeavoured to prevent the population of these States; for that purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migrations hither, and raising the conditions of new Appropriations of Lands.

He has obstructed the Administration of Justice, by refusing his Assent to Laws for establishing Judiciary powers.

He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.

He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.

He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.

He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:

For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:

For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:

For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:

For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:

For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offences

For abolishing the free System of English Laws in a neighbouring Province, establishing therein an Arbitrary government, and enlarging its Boundaries so as to render it at once an example and fit instrument for introducing the same absolute rule into these Colonies:

For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:

For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with power to legislate for us in all cases whatsoever.

He has abdicated Government here, by declaring us out of his Protection and waging War against us.

He has plundered our seas, ravaged our Coasts, burnt our towns, and destroyed the lives of our people.

He is at this time transporting large Armies of foreign Mercenaries to compleat the works of death, desolation and tyranny, already begun with circumstances of Cruelty & perfidy scarcely paralleled in the most barbarous ages, and totally unworthy the Head of a civilized nation.

He has constrained our fellow Citizens taken Captive on the high Seas to bear Arms against their Country, to become the executioners of their friends and Brethren, or to fall themselves by their Hands.

He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages, whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.

Nor have We been wanting in attentions to our Brittish brethren. We have warned them from time to time of attempts by their legislature to extend an unwarrantable jurisdiction over us. We have reminded them of the circumstances of our emigration and settlement here. We have appealed to their native justice and magnanimity, and we have conjured them by the ties of our common kindred to disavow these usurpations, which, would inevitably interrupt our connections and correspondence. They too have been deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity. We must, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity, which denounces our Separation, and hold them, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. And for the support of this Declaration, with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
