Good commentary on the new Arizona law

This was a couple from the Houston Astros-Arizona Diamondback game…where LULAC had all of 25 people out there to protest!

  1. I don't understand the "open borders" crowd. I really don't.

  2. I guess they just want to sink the US to the level of Mexico...I can understand someone wanting to come here, but not assimilating I can't handle....

  3. On the political side, I can sum it up as follows:
    - illegals equate more dependents who require government aid.
    - more dependents = larger voting block for those who will give it (aid) to them.
    - the political elite have set themselves up with a nice, "cushy" racket, and, they aint about to let it go w/o a fight. They are hooked on themselves and the power, like a "junkie".
ON the non-political side I sum up as follows:
    - vast majority of these supporters are of like mind (i.e. - if we let them conservatives take this away, my little subsidies may be next).
    - many of these supporters are young and stupid. Put another way, they have nothing to support other than their little habits (shopping, movies, video games, etc). Those who have to support themselves, a family, house note, car note(s), utility bills, etc quickly find out that they would have more money to do the things that they would RATHER be doing if the government didn't take away so much of their pay checks in taxes.
    - Few people actually "think" anymore, and the politicians LOVE it. People aren't so much "stupid" as "lazy" and don't want to go to the trouble to research some "facts" before opening their mouth or making a decision. They'll settle for "talking points" or these in-depth 90 second stories on the evening news. As Hitler once put it - "don't try to convince the intellectuals, they are the minority. You have to convince the (dumber) majority."

  4. A good summary Jerry…I often commented on the end of shame in this culture. There was a time when you didn’t go “on relief” unless you really were hard off and then you tried to get off of it as soon as possible. Now it’s a lifestyle. And your right, there are politicians who like giving people just enough to live (in theory, let’s be honest, there is a lot of the underground economy out there) as long as they deliver the votes every election day.

No wonder Democrats never want ID at voting booths….
