Football.....two and a wakeup.

Yes, it's getting better

BBQ and apple pie today and picking up the sirloin tip roast soon for Thursday night.  Looking forward to Thursday.

Comments on the opening game between the defencing World Champions New Orleans Saints and the Vikes.

Hub Arkush on Dan Hampton's Katrina comment: "We won't be ignoring it"
Hall of Fame Bears defensive lineman Dan Hampton recently created an uproar by saying that, on Thursday, "The Vikings need to go down [to New Orleans] and hit that town like Katrina."...

...The remark came on the Pro Football Weekly television show, and so we contacted PFW publisher Hub Arkush, who said that the decision-making process regarding the situation is ongoing but, "We won't be ignoring it."

Meanwhile, several of you have complained about an arguably half-hearted (hoof-hearted) apology from Eric Edholm of PFW, who offers up the kind of excuses that Hampton should be offering up for himself.
Personally I say get over it...people have worse about teams then this. It's part of the game and most of my friends in NOLA don't care...we will wipe the AstroTurf with Vikes.

Now I'm seeing a pattern in previews on Da Game

In case Brett Favre(notes) needed any extra motivation entering his 20th NFL season, watching the New Orleans Saints raise a championship banner should provide it.
After the Saints eliminated Favre’s Minnesota Vikings in overtime of the NFC title game en route to their first Super Bowl victory, the 40-year-old quarterback has returned and hopes to spoil New Orleans’ party at the Superdome on Thursday night.
OK, I get it.  Favre is a great football player and even greater man and but like the NFC Championship last year, every idiot in the media wants to write a story about Brett Favre with a few words about the NFC South Champion Saints.  You know, the winner of Superbowl 44.  I think Favre is a class act and has eared his place in the Hall of Fame.  But guys, will you finally get your heads out of your asses when you write on this and actually prepare a preview of the game...not only both  QBs, but also the running  backs, line, defensive ends, receivers, linebackers....I think this is a team sport.

Hey, the beer is chilling and we're counting down.
