Crime, Politics and the Profession

The last few days after the shooting in Tucson have shown an all too typical pattern of the leftists in this country.

Within an hour of the attack the liberal cartoonist for the Arizona Daily Star stated this to CNNs Martin Savidge

Fitzsimmons: I must tell you, as a columnist whose covered politics in this state, it was inevitable from my perspective.

Savidge: Why do you say that?

Fitzsimmons: Because the right in Arizona, and I'm speaking very broadly, has been stoking the fire of heated anger and rage successfully in this state. And, you know, it's just stunning when you consider Congresswoman overseas positions on the issues. She is a centrist. She is a moderate. And I don't know who the shooter is--have no idea who the shooter is--but what could possibly motivate an individual to be enraged against, or to take down, a moderate centrist? To me that just paints a picture of how off the mark the politics of this state have grown.
To its credit the Star apologized for jumping the gun. Fair enough. But such maturity is not to be expected from former Enron advisor Paul Krugman for his words within hours of the attack:

…We don't have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was. She's been the target of violence before. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she's a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist.

Now Little Paul is supposed upset by the map that sarahpac.com had on last year and it included a target of Congresswoman Gifford's.

Thanks to the work of John Sexton we have examples of maps on the Democratic/leftist web sites showing targets of Republicans in elections.

I wonder will Little Paul Krugman et all be screaming about “heated rhetoric” and encouraging violence soon about these web sites? Will they question the efforts of Islamic radicals in encouraging people like Major Hasan who massacred 13 people at Fort Hood last year? I won’t hold my breath.

Sarah Palin had nothing to do with this man and he was not affiliated with the Tea Party, the Conservative movement or the Republican Party. He is a dope smoking leftist whose favorite books include Mein Kampf and The Communist Manifesto and 911 Truther. But please don’t let facts get in the way for people like Krugman, the staff of the New York Times, AP, etc.

Now it’s bad enough our supposed objective journalists can’t let this template go and just simply report who, what, where, when, why and how. The AP story on the attack in the Sunday Houston Chronicle had four paragraphs on Palin and we could ask why but I think we know the answer. The NY Times had two paragraphs. The New York Post had this headline from Sunday:
Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' blood is on Sarah Palin's hands after putting cross hair over district
Again, all too typical exploitation of a tragedy from the left. Then again, as Rham “Deadfish” Emanuel said “Never let a serious crisis go to waste."

Now politicians are expected to be partisan and the Forth Estate likes to call itself nonpartisan, the facts notwithstanding. But Sheriff Clarence Dupnik in Tucson immediately started to put out leftist propaganda. This interview with Megan Kelly on Foxnews this past weekend says it all. Go straight to 6:00 into the interview.

…it used to be politicians from different parties could sit down, forget about their ideology and work on the county’s problems. We don’t see that happening today, as a matter of fact we see just the opposite, we see one party trying to block the attempts of another party to make this a better country…

Translation, because Conservatives won’t bow down to the socialists who control the Democratic Party right now this maniac shot up a political meeting.

Sheriff Dupnik, during one of your screeches you mentioned you have been a law man for over 50 years, which means you were a cop years before I was born. And Sheriff Dupnik, from one cop to another, you are embarrassing me.

I am a proud conservative and I love the discuss politics in the office with my buddies on the force. But once I go out to protect and serve, the politics ends. My views are mine and that is it. I know you are an elected Democrat but you are either exploiting this mass murder to get yourself in the spotlight or you are clueless. I don’t know which is worse for the head of the Pima County Sheriff’s office of a million person community, but I know which one is more disgusting.

Sheriff Dupnik I can’t expect professionalism from the likes of the Forth Estate, but we can expect it (and your constitutions can demand it) of you. I remind you sir you are the leader of you department. The officers of your department deserve better. Just solve the damned crime!

UPDATE:

I didn't think someone could get lower than former Enron Advisor Paul Krugman. I was wrong:

“You never want a serious crisis to go to waste,” Rahm Emanuel famously said in 2008. The same goes for a shooting spree that gravely wounds a beloved congresswoman. Congress won’t enact gun control, as it did in the wake of the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy in 1968, but perhaps something positive can come from this.

Two days after the murder of six, the killing of a 9 year old and as the target of assignation fights for her life in a hospital, Newsweek prints this crap. Is there not one editor who will say "No Jonathan you will not embarrass us in front of the world with this..."

Mr Alter...is there nothing beneath you?
