Egypt: Final ISP Shut Down January 31, 2011

Noor Group, Egypt’s last working Internet service provider, was shut down Jan. 31, as the country went completely offline, according to U.S. Web monitoring company Renesys, AFP reported. The Noor network began disappearing at 2046 GMT, the New Hampshire-based Renesys stated as it monitored the Internet routing data in real time.

Egypt: Port In Alexandria Closed Only During Curfew January 31, 2011

The Egyptian port El Dekheila, an extension of the port of Alexandria, is closed during curfew restricitons only, APK-Inform Information Agency reported Jan. 31, citing representatives of the Egyptian shipping companies Kadmar Shipping and Al Mostafa Shipping. A previous report by DPA said Jan. 31 that the port had closed.

Egypt: Only 1 Route To Tahrir Square Left Open January 31, 2011

The Egyptian army has only left one route open to get in and out of Tahrir Square, Al Jazeera reported Jan. 31.

Israel: All Citizens Told To Leave Egypt January 31, 2011

The Israeli Foreign Ministry demanded all Israeli citizens to leave Egypt immediately, Al Jazeera reported Jan. 31.
