Many of you probably have see this video of testimony from the Texas legislature last week where a Mexican immigrant who has been in the US for over twenty years wants to speak in Spanish to this committee.
I spoke with a friend who was born in India and migrated when he was in elementary school. He had a similar opinion. You move to a country, make it your home and want to participate in its politics, learn the language.
Forgive me if I take his story about not being comfortable in English with a grain of salt. I believe it was more for effect than anything.
