I don't mind stupid people...they are job security for me!
The officer was justified in using the Taser to stop him for getting into his car. If he had gotten into the car and started down the highway a chase is very dangerous.
In all seriousness I'm just happy he wasn't injured or killed. It would suck for him obviously but the officer would have to live with that for the rest of his life...and the question of was this worth it.
I guess it's a great scene. I don't know. I agree he wasn't very smart at all, though.
