Unions prevent help to New Jersey residents

Decatur Utilities: Crews told to affiliate with union to help with recovery

The hurricane-ravaged east coast has been receiving north Alabama help, but crews learned they could not help out in New Jersey unless they affiliated with a union.

A six man crew from Decatur Utilities headed up there this week, but Derrick Moore, one of the Decatur workers, said they were told by crews in New Jersey that they can't do any work there since they're not union employees.

The general manager of Decatur Utilities, Ray Hardin told Fox Business they were presented documents from the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers at a staging area in Virginia. The documents stated they had to affiliate with a union to work, which the crews could not agree to.

Hardin said the crews were told this was a requirement to work.

As they waited for confirmation on the documents, crews received word that Seaside Heights had received the assistance they needed from other sources.

They attempted to look for work in other areas but because a resolution could not be reached, they made the decision late Thursday night to return home.

Moore said they're frustrated being told "thanks, but no thanks."...

My brother works in sheet rocking and this is a story I love to tell. Around 1989 there was a hotel in NY City that was going through a refurbishing. I don’t recall how the hotel staff got his company involved in this but this NY City hotel hired my brother’s company from New Orleans. They moved his crew into the hotel and paid them more than they would ever make in New Orleans. And flew them home (as I recall) every third weekend to see their families. My brother’s company finished the job in just over a year and it cost the company less than half of local labor which would have taken them at least two years.

Now, as the state has been wiped out these union thugs want to stop help from non union Alabama from fixing their electricity.

Jersey and New York, you wonder why you are dying? Hey B Hussein Obama, Christie and FEMA, how about you waive union rules for this week.
