Officer Jason Ellis was ambushed Saturday while trying to help motorists. He was set up to move some debris off of an exit ramp which posed a traffic hazard and shot multiple times with a shotgun. He was the K-9 handler for the Bardstown PD in Bardstown, KY...here is his partner, K-9 Figo paying one last tribute. Forever loyal. Forever faithful.
RIP Officer Ellis. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, co-workers, and K-9 partner. The city of Bardstown is allowing the young dog to retire and remain with the family he knows and loves. K-9 Figo will keep watch over Ellis' widow, Amy, and his two sons, ages 6 and 7....just the way that Officer Jason Ellis would have wanted him to.
The reward fund for information leading to the capture of the murderer is over $100,000.
