Deputy Sheriff Dewayne Crenshaw was shot and killed after responding to a call of a domestic dispute at a home on County Road 500.Rest in Peace Bro…We’ll Continue The Watch
Deputy Crenshaw and another deputy responded to a domestic dispute at approximately 4:00 am in a rural area near Ripley. When they arrived at the scene they encountered a male subject outside. As they made contact with the man Deputy Crenshaw was fatally shot.
The suspect was arrested and charged with capital murder.
Deputy Crenshaw was a U.S. military veteran and had served as a patrol deputy for the Tippah County Sheriff's Department for seven years. He had previously served as a detention officer with the agency.
He is survived by his wife, four children, and one stepchild. One of his sons also works for the department.

Until reading your blog I had no idea that there were so many in the law enforcement community that lose their lives. I guess it is a local "news story" and those that live outside of the affected area don't hear of it. It is sad. These folks in the L/E and related jobs are under paid and under appreciated.

ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind words on officers who fall in the line and your comments on my blog. Please don’t snicker but I am an intelligence officer :<)…actually retired. I spent 23 years in the Army and Army reserve and wanted to make intel a part of my blog. I’m glad you’re enjoying it.
I’ve been trying to get some good rants in this week but it’s been crazy at work the last few days.
