The system failed and the system worked.

A few months ago I was speaking with a Harris County deputy about stupid things cops do and sex naturally came up. He left me with some cogent words I remember, "Twenty minutes ain't worth twenty years."

About says it all. Even if they do a plea deal with no jail time (TBD) his life is ruined. Was she worth it man?

JPSO: Deputy fired after arrest for carnal knowledge of a juvenile

MARRERO, La. -- The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office fired a deputy after he was arrested on several counts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile for allegedly having sex with a 14-year-old girl, according to statement from the sheriff's office.

Blake Stewart, 23, of Marrero, had worked as a deputy since Feb. 2011, according to the sheriff's office, mostly as a correctional officer until Mar. 4 when he joined the patrol division.

On Apr. 28, JPSO detectives were contacted by investigators from the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office, informing the JPSO that allegations had been made against Stewart.

Deputies said Stewart was camping at the Yogi Bear Grounds in Robert, La., when the father of a 14-year-old girl walked in on his daughter and Stewart engaging in "sexual behavior," according to the JPSO.

The father called the Tangipahoa Sheriff's Office, but Stewart left the campground before police arrived, according to the JPSO.

Stewart refused to cooperate with JPSO detectives during an interview later the same day, and he "was immediately placed on indefinite suspension from the JPSO based on his refusal to cooperate in this investigation. Stewart was not arrested at that time because it was undetermined if any criminal wrongdoing had occurred within the jurisdiction of Jefferson Parish," said the statement from the sheriff's office.

"[T]he victim disclosed to her father that sexual intercourse did occur between Stewart and herself at the campgrounds in Tangipahoa on April 27 and 28. The female also told her father she had sexual intercourse with Stewart numerous times at his residence in Marrero and at an unknown location in Jefferson Parish while they were riding a four-wheeler," said a statement from the JPSO.

Monday, Stewart turned himself into the JPSO. "Stewart was additionally booked as a fugitive out of Tangipahoa Parish for the charges placed upon him. Arrest warrants were secured by Detective Sharky on Blake Stewart for four counts of Felony Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile," said from the JPSO.
