There is still hope for America.....

Although this is a somber day of reflection, there is some good news from Colorado last night. Thank you citizens from the Centennial State, reminding those “public servants” they serve at the pleasure of people, not their own. I recall a great document that has this quote,
“...We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness....”

2 Colo. Democratic lawmakers ousted in gun control recalls promoted by activists, NRA

DENVER — Two Democratic state lawmakers who backed tighter gun laws in the aftermath of mass shootings have been kicked out of office in a recall election promoted by both grassroots activists and the National Rifle Association.

Senate President John Morse lost by just 343 votes Tuesday in a swing district in the Republican stronghold of Colorado Springs but Sen. Angela Giron lost by a bigger margin in a largely blue-collar district that favors Democrats....

The NRA backing the people of Colorado is implied to be illegitimate but Bloomberg and this ilk putting money in is not.

Hopefully this expands to pulling the federal politicians out. Time will tell. But for now I"m now recalling this great video from my Saturday morning cartoon days.
