Muffuletta Heads may rule at the "Thanks Green Bay for Kicking Atlanta's butt" parade.Mayor Mitch Landrieu announced today that the city will unite and throw the Green Bay Packers a massive victory parade in New Orleans for routing the Atlanta Falcons 48-21 in the second round of the NFL playoffs.
"As much as it stung to have our boys knocked out of the playoffs so early, the only consolation is that the Falcons got their asses handed to them in front of a national audience," Landrieu said during a news conference at Gallier Hall.
"We'd be remiss not to celebrate that," he said. "Besides, we need a party, Mardi Gras is late this year."
...Leslie Nadine, owner of Black and Gold Bonanza, says fans heading out to the parade can purchase the traditional Green Bay Cheese Head, but with a New Orleans twist.
"I added salami, ham, mortadella, and olive salad to make it a full on Muffuletta Head," Nadine said. "They come whole or in halves for adults and kids and can be eaten during the celebration if you’re boxed in by the huge crowd and can’t get out."

..."Aaron Rodgers is my hero for not only throwing three touchdown passes and running for another in the victory over Atlanta, but he also beat Michael Vick the week before, who used to play for Atlanta," Hebert said, echoing the feelings most Saints fans have of Atlanta.
"In the NFC Championship, he also beat a pesky Bears defense led by Brian Urlacher who has a second cousin in Atlanta," Hebert said. "This guy is just amazing."...
Good to know New Orleans can have a great time no matter what. And no, there was no parade. The New Orleans Levee is a satirical paper with the motto "We don't hold anything back"
