Blue Knights Vacation...Day Two

I've figured out how to solve the drought that has afflicted the south...just let us ride through the area. It must have rain for over 250 of the miles we rode yesterday.

Beth and I got up and next thing you know she is screaming about a big bug.

We got started more or less on time and met up with our friends Cherie, Jason and Kelly at the IHOP for breakfast....this 500am is too damned early but we wanted to get started before it got hot. Great place to put all the helmets.

Got through Louisiana and Mississippi mostly dry and we are praying to avoid the rain...at least we get lunch at Bates House of Turkey. . Excellent dinner plates. We kinda have agreed to try local places on the ride....you can ge McD's anywhere

Started out of Ft Deposit AL and made about twenty miles before the heavens opened up and we had to get dressed in rain suits. For a bit we were thinking we would have to pull over....the rain was bad and the drivers were idiots. But we pulled over after the weather broke, got gas and that was it.....

Until ten more miles down the street were the heavens again opened up and next thing you know we are drenched again..oh well, should have learned m lesson on day one.

Drove up to the Harley dealership in Macon AL for a couple of quick parts and met a legend....one of the owners is Grover Sassman, a mechanic for Major Pappy Boyington in the Black Sheep Squadron. Great to see a man from the Greatest Generation at still at work.

A chair made out of motorcycle parts the dealership was auctioning off.

Called it a night at the Quality Inn and can't wait to get started again. Made great time today.

MILES TODAY: 518
TOTAL MILES: 918
