Dan Rather: Newt dangerous as a wounded Wolverine by Charlie Spiering Commentary Staff Writer
Don't underestimate Newt Gingrich, warns Dan Rather during an MSNBC roundtable discussion today.
"Anyone who has covered Newt Gingrich over the years knows better than to underestimate him," said Rather, referencing his political comeback. "Newt Gingrich on the move politically is as dangerous as a wounded wolverine."
Gee, he never said this about Obama when he was running for Senate and David Axelrod opened sealed divorce records of his opponents and humiliated them publicly. Or other media members who call Rick Perry a racist for a sign at a rented camp he covered up years ago. Or the trumped up accusations of sexual harassment against Herman Cain conveniently just as he is ascending in the polls. Then again you pushed a lie about George Bush's service in the Air Guard at the end of the 04 campaign, even though it was shown to be a pack of lies. But let's be truthful for a bit. You are no more objective than I am. The difference is I'm not the liar you are.
But here is the real funny part of this article.
Rather added that Jon Huntsman was the best candidate for the GOP in the 2012 general election, but would have a hard time winning the Republican primary.
If I was Perry, Cain, Gingrich or even Rhomney I would play that over and over. But then why waste the air time...Huntsman will go nowhere except for a slot on MSNBC as a conservative commentator.
Alive is a relative term.
