Another example of how not to do the job....

And an insult to good cops out there.

I generally carry off duty but if I know I'm gonna get drunk, the pistol is away. Booze and guns will not be good. Here is a classic example why.

Tucson officer fired after his arrest
TUCSON — A Tucson police officer has been fired after being accused of aggravated assault at a gasoline station while off duty.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department notified Tucson police that 23-year-old Kyle McCartin was arrested early Tuesday.
Rincon District deputies responded to a call of an assault with a deadly weapon at the Giant Gas Station about 3 a.m.
Authorities say two men wearing bullet-proof vests allegedly approached the gas station clerk and one of them pulled out a gun and pointed it twice at the clerk.
The men fled on foot but were later found at an apartment complex. Authorities say the clerk gave a detailed description of the suspect, who was later identified as McCartin.
Police say McCartin was hired last September and was on probationary status.
When I was on probation it was drowned into my head until you were civil service you are an "employee at will" and could be "terminated at will". The fact he is willing to pull a weapon on someone while intoxicated with on justification tells me he doesn't need a badge.
