Finally on the road...one more day and we are in. Beautiful areas in the Carolinas and finally cross into Virginia. Getting closer, closer, closer, almost there, about to get off the interstate and get this nice sign posted by the Commonwealth of Virginia, "MOTORCYCLE OPERATORS EXECUTE EXTREME CAUTION".
Just in time for a convention of motorcyclists they resurface one of the main roadways and two lanes are cut down and grooved. We've gone over 1500 miles in four days and we're gonna die within site of the hotel. Fortunately we got to the one fully surfaced lane and I didn't get wiped out...oh thank you God.
Hotel...and we are off the seat. Check in, collapse for a few and get to the hospitality room for a drink or three. Dinner at Joe's Crab Shack and finally call it a night.
